Step 1: Sign up at Voltage

Visit voltage.cloud sign up, choose a suitable for you plan and create a new lightning node.

Step 2: Get Alby Browser Extension

If you still haven't, install the Alby Browser Extension. Make sure to pin the icon of the Alby extension to your browser bar for easier access!

Step 3: Connect Voltage to Alby Extension

In your Voltage dashboard, click the "Connect" tab and in the dropdown pick "Alby".
Then follow the instructions to connect a new existing wallet and choose LND.

Step 3: Connect Voltage to Alby Extension

In your Voltage dashboard, click the "Connect" tab and in the dropdown pick "Alby".

Step 4: Fund your node and start using Alby

Click "Finish Setup" to open a small app that helps you to open payment channels to send and receive your first bitcoin with your own node (If you only want to receive payments jump to step 5).

Step 4: Fund your node and start using Alby

Click "Finish Setup" to open a small app that helps you to open payment channels to send and receive your first bitcoin with your own node (If you only want to receive payments jump to step 5).

To be able to receive payments you need inbound liquidity. Log into your Voltage lightning node. On the home tab a new "Need a channel?" section should appear. Click on "Request Channel". Voltage opens a channel to you with inbound liquidity. Now you can receive payments.

To be able to receive payments you need inbound liquidity. Log into your Voltage lightning node. On the home tab a new "Need a channel?" section should appear. Click on "Request Channel". Voltage opens a channel to you with inbound liquidity. Now you can receive payments.
